Echo Hill School Farm
Ramalynn Academy's beautiful 15 acre school farm was acquired in 2006. With the help of an architect, the classroom barn was designed by our middle school students. It is a gathering place for our school community, and consistently helps connect our students and families to the beauty of the natural world.
Ramalynn families are always welcome to visit, explore, and even camp out overnight at the Echo Hill School Farm. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in visiting.
Vegetable & Flower Garden
Each Spring, our students travel to the farm to plant herbs, cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes, and other vegetables, as well as zinnias, cosmos, and other beautiful cut flowers. They visit throughout the summer to tend to the garden, and again in fall to harvest.
Through this experience, students learn to grow their own food. They learn to care for their garden, weeding and tilling, feeding and watering, and as they harvest in the fall, they are given the chance to explore the business side of growing, by setting up a school market and selling their harvest.
Summer Educational Trips
During the Summer, our Grades 1-8 summer program visits Echo Hill on educational trips. They spend time doing nature walks, sketching, and even practicing yoga!
The Farm is a place where Ramalynn families gather to celebrate different events, such as Farm Fest. It is a place where parents get to know one another, and children get to run and play. Our sense of community is deepened as we come together at Echo Hill, enjoying a delicious potluck, bonfires and s'mores, tractor rides, pony rides, face painting, crafting, and much more!
